Wilderness Survival training is a
key component of the Ground SAR certification.
New members must demonstrate clearly that they can survive in the outdoors with minimal supplies.
Navigation skills that include map & compass and GPS training are provided. Geo-caching events are
planned throughout the year.
The Rope Rescue team trains
year round with more focus during the fall and spring months. Outdoor training
often takes place at Savona Bluffs and Roche Lake. Initial basic training
is held at the KSAR hall with existing rope members helping to train new
members as part of their own advancement to becoming a team leader. |
